Happy Dive Station, and what we can do for you!

Welcome to the blog of Happy Dive Station. Since a few days we have our logo. And we are proud of it also. It is just the way we wanted it. A happy shark embraces the diveflag and the name of the company. Why a shark? Well it is one of the best known creatures in the oceans. That is what we pursuit too. Become one of the best known Diveschool/Underwater photography school.

What has our company to offer?

Well we can give divecourses, all given by the PADI system.

Also we can arrange divetrips to best diveplaces around Koh Tao, and offcourse also Koh Samui.
Why Samui..... Well there are some very nice places to be found around the island. Many diveschools think it is not interesting here around Samui to do diving, but if you're interested in seahorses, and other small stuff then Samui is the place to be.

We also offer snorkel tours around Samui. Also we have trips to the Angthong National Marine Park and we go to Koh Tao also.

The snorkeltours around Samui can be even made a bit bigger with for instance an Elephant ride, or a visit to the Waterfalls here on Samui. Maybe you have other wishes..... Well we do our best to follow your needs and give you the best time ever.

Can you imagine to see as the picture here above. Just swim around and be surrounded by loads of tropical fish. It is jumping into a big aquarium, clear waters and lots of marine life around.

Interested?

Then contact us by sending an email, or make a reaction on this message. We will get back to you shortly.

A days diving.

Some people asked me if i upload some photos to my blog. Well i did some fundiving again and had some nice shots during these dives.
Sometimes we're in luck and find a banded seakrait. These are members of the seasnakes, and very poisoness. But in fact these creatures are very nosy and come very close to inspect what kind of thing we are.
These fish above are Tuna's and i ran into them while doing a deep dive during my work as photographer. Sometimes you have to be lucky.
A jewel blenny. One of the bigger members of the Blenny family.
Many people think this is Nemo above, but in fact it is a Saddleback Clownfish or a Panda clownfish. Never the less it is still a nice and colorful fish to see.
A Partner Goby and his shrimp. These two are always living together and have a nice symbiosys. The Goby keeps watch and the shrimp digs the hole. The shrimp has very bad eyesight, and is in touch with the Goby with on of his antennas. Any danger the shrimp shoots into the hole.
A familiar sight here in the Gulf of Thailand. A couple of Pink anemone fish. Colorfull and photogenic.
2 very transparent and small shrimps. Try to look under overhangs and so, and big chance you find them. Look careful though, because they are hard to spot.
A spotted grouper. Shot with my 60 mm macrolens. You need to be very close to it to get a shot like this.
A member of the wrasse family. Colorful, and some people think it is a parrotfish because of the coloration, but the mouth is completely different then a parrotfish.
The diggers in the oceans. A Long-barbed Goatfish busy with trying to find something eatable.
We ha some severe coralbleeching here in the Gulf, but as you can see the colors are coming back. Barrelsponges and anemones are in their original colours again. The harder kind of corals need more time to come back, but they will survive also.
My friends in the sea. Batfish. Always a magnificent sight to see them. Most of the time in a big group. They like the open waters, but sometimes you see them close to the reef and get something like this above.

Lompraya snorklingtour

I started working as a dive instructor her on Samui, but due to low tourist rates by the financial crisis in the world i looked for a different source of income.
I found a very nice job with the Lomprayah snorkling tour as a photographer.

As you can see on the photos the fish are not camera shy at all.
Witch makes it great fun for the snorklers.

All are very happy with their photos taken, and sometimes you make real beautys.

I think it is a great combination for me. Diving and photographing. The 2 most enjoyable things i like. :-)

This is the catamaran witch bring us to Koh Nangyuan. I think the more beautyfull islands in the Gulf of Thailand.

A days diving on Sailrock. 30-12-2009

Red snappers and in the distance a group of Fuseliers.
Visability was about 25 meters.
On of my divers found this group of Fuseliers most attracting.
A blue ringed angelfish is one of the more common fish around here.
The grow up to about 30 centimeters in length, and are nice coloured
fish to see.
This is a giant porcupine fish of about 60 cm. Just hanging around
and cleaned by cleaner wrasses during our safetystop.
Big eye trevally are always found on Sailrock,
from 25 meters depth till 5 meters.
A 6 banded angelfish is a kind you don't see every day, but
are common. Not all divesites have them.

Wideangles of Whiterock and Twins divesite

The visability on Twins can be a real treat sometimes.
One of the nicer places around Koh Tao.

This is the top of Twins. Not many corals, but what there is, is nice.

Nice gorgonians can be found on Twins and Whiterock.

One of the people who dive here like to pose for my camera.

Here is one of my shots i took last time, and try to get
the lighting on the right place.

Fundiving is the word for the sites.
Enjoy, and maybe make a small comment if you want.

At last shooting some macro on Koh Samui

A Pink anemonefish in his anemone.

A very nice example of where the name parrotfish is coming from. The beak.
A Longsnout clingfish. These are wiggeling over the reef.

Detail off a Fanworm.

Christmastree worm, in a colour i never have seen.
